Worker Injured Falling From a Ladder – Company Fined £9900

JDS Trucks appeared at Accrington Magistrates’ Court on 15th June following an incident at its garage, on 4 December 2009. The company pleaded guilty to breaching reg.6(3) and reg.8(e) of the Work at Height Regulations 2005, and reg.3 of the Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations 1999. It was fined £9900 in total and £4613 in costs.

Regulation6(3)
Where work is carried out at height, every employer shall take suitable and sufficient measures to prevent, so far as is reasonably practicable, any person falling a distance liable to cause personal injury.

Regulation 8 (e)
8. Every employer shall ensure that, in the case of—
