IOSH Managing Safely is a well-known and respected qualification for in the basics for people who have to manage health and safety.
Course content
The course covers the following topics:
- Assessing risks
- Controlling risks
- Understanding organisational responsibilities
- Identifying hazards at work
- Investigating accidents and incidents
- Measuring health and safety performance
Further development
Although it is not a pre-requisite, many people who have completed the IOSH Managing Safely course go on to study at a higher level such as NEBOSH or NVQ
How is the course assessed?
There are two assessments. A written test consisting of a mixure of multiple choice and short written answer questions and a risk assessment project conducted in the workplace.
How are the courses delivered?
The course may delivered in a number of ways. There is a requirement for a minimum of 24 hours input which can be delivered in a block or spread over a number of weeks. Corporate wishing to train four or more members of staff can be offered a training schedule to suit their needs.
